Prayer for Defense against Enemies.

1 Sam 23:19; 26:1
when the Ziphites came and said to Saul, “Is not David hiding himself among us?”

1 Save me, O God, by cYour name,
And
Lit judge
vindicate me by eYour power.
2 fHear my prayer, O God;
gGive ear to the words of my mouth.
3For strangers have hrisen against me
And iviolent men have jsought my
Or soul
life;
They have lnot set God before them.
Selah may mean: Pause, Crescendo or Musical interlude
Selah.

4Behold, nGod is my helper;
The Lord is
Lit as those who sustain
the psustainer of my soul.

He will rrecompense the evil to
Or those who lie in wait for me
my foes;
Or Put to silence

uDestroy them vin Your
Or truth
faithfulness.

Or With a freewill offering
,
yWillingly I will sacrifice to You;
I will give zthanks to Your name, O Lord, for it is good.

Or it; i.e. His name
He has abdelivered me from all
Or distress
trouble,
And my eye has adlooked with satisfaction upon my enemies.
